After redesigning the bank notes for the Straya Cash project, I continued the fun and did the coins for Australia day 2016.
The new designs included Australian Icons that I couldn’t fit onto the cash and my final selections for the coins were highly influenced by the icons demanded on social media.
I released the Straya Shrapnel a couple of days before Australia day and it was received in an equal fashion as Straya Cash.
It was fun to visit the Today show again, props from Brown Cardigan, get shared by Rebel WIlson to her 2.4 Millions followers and do interviews with organisations such as NITV.
A big cheers to Marcus at the Punk Office. He created the brilliant interactive effect on the coins. A lot of people who viewed the post saw that kind of digital functionality for the first time. Be sure to check out the original post and have a play.
The most well received coin was the AC/DC 5 cents. I received 100’s of emails requesting if it existed in real life. Shout out to the band’s official merchandise guys.
I’ve collected some of the articles, TV clips, and interviews where Straya Shrapnel was featured. Click on the screenshots to go to the articles.

My next idea is about sexual health. I’m currently collaborating with a brand to tackle a worldwide problem that has arisen for young people in the last couple of years. To see this idea first, sign up to my mailing list.
