Crickey! STRAYA CASH has now gone digital.
When cryptocurrency nerd Jack Hurley got in touch with me about collaborating to make the most Ozzie crypto coin possible, my response went something like: 'Yeah, Nah, Yeah, Nah nah, HELL YEAH!
STRAYACOIN is a fair dinkum, decentalized mate-to-mate digital dollaridoo, that you will be able to use to pay Davo back after he picked you up a pack of ciggs from the servo.
Honestly, I was sweating bullets because I had to turn the artwork for Strayacoin around faster than a cut snake.
I began by deleting every song on my iTunes, leaving only Australia's national anthem, You're the Voice by John Farnham playing on repeat.
After visualising Farnsie's majestic 80's mullet in my mind's eye for 2 hours, I started the design.
I decided to feature all the Australian faves. Thongs, a tinnie, Winnie Blues and a infinate 'Yeah/nah' loop.
For a finishing touch, I included a hidden shoey and Steve Irwin: Australia's very own version of Jesus. Can you spot it?
I'm stoked with the final result. Better than Bitcoin's if you ask me.
Who knows, (if the NBN ever gets fixed) STRAYACOIN might take over from the Aus dollar and you will be able to purchase Russell Coight's All Aussie Adventures DVDs with a swag full of Strayacoins.
Jack spoke to channel 9 about the project:
Throw another shrimp on the barbie and pop a shoey, Australia, STRAYACOIN is here.
